All that we deal with in our daily life has various aspects. Similarly, the aviation or airline industry does play an important role in today’s world of modernity. Still, at the same time, it has many sides that reflect both its positive and negative sides. The aviation placement agency in kolkata, like the SFTS Edu and many others, give their students a vivid image of all the dimensions of the airline industry, so in this article, we will be highlighting all the merits and demerits of the aviation industry.

A LOOK INTO THE MERITS AND DEMERITS OF THE AVIATION INDUSTRY:

In today’s fast-moving life, the aviation industry has proved itself to be a boon to us but still, if we get into the depth of it; the industry will give us many reasons to appreciate its advantage and simultaneously will even give us many reasons to debunk the disadvantages of it. So let us take a dig into them.

  1. Airway transport has become the most used means of transportation for domestic and commercial purposes due to its fastest way of providing services. The industry is only moving forward in the path of evolution and is estimated to have over 7 billion passengers to fly by the starting of the year 2025. Due to this high demand from the entire population all around the globe, airway transportation is becoming increasingly crowded daily. But along with this disadvantage of getting overly crowded, the industry is also showing up with an advantage. As aircraft are becoming too crowded, new technologies are brought up that improve the efficiency and safety of air travel. But still some of the times there are turbulences which show up on the way of the passenger’s journey.

2. The air transport fare is quite high compared to any other means of transport like the roadways or the railways, but if we talk about the infrastructure of the airway transport, then it is quite cheaper. For the smooth running of the railways, many things need to be built up like the railway tracks, the fly-over bridges, stations, and many more, but for air transportation, only the construction of airports is required. So this stands as one of the advantages of airway transport as there might be times when the cost of railway journeys might rise due to the huge investment it requires for building its infrastructure.

3. Airways transport is even useful in times of natural disasters, and this stands as one of the major advantages of the airways as air travel makes it possible to provide food and other necessities that the needy ones require, as sometimes the roadway or railway transport accessibility is not possible there. At the same time, airway transport is used so that people can evacuate the affected area much earlier.

4. The accidents in airway transport are more fatal. Airway transport might be convenient, but as much as we rely on it, air transport accidents are more common nowadays and so very negatively effective that one might die. The climatic condition and sometimes the irresponsible behaviour of the cabin crew to follow up the instructions leads to such accidents. Often the turbulences caused in the engines are also responsible for such mishaps.

5. Though the airline industry is still doing great in terms of connecting different places, there is a drawback in that; it is difficult to carry heavy goods or large cargo. In this case, railway or road transports are better as they do not have such restrictions on the number of goods to be carried. In contrast, the airline industry has limited it, which is not always sufficient to meet the demand of certain industries.

6. There is a wrong idea in people’s minds that air transport can be blindly trusted as it is always safe and reliable. Still, airway journeys can sometimes be precarious due to bad weather conditions. This often affects the passengers’ safety and even the flight timings schedules. The airlines have obligations to take necessary measures during bad weather, which often leads to delayed or cancelled flights. So this stands as one of the major drawbacks of the aviation industry.

CONCLUSION:

Like any other industry, the aviation industry has a blend of both advantageous and disadvantageous situations, affecting us in different ways. Still, the aviation industry has contributed a lot both for domestic purposes and at the same time to the upliftment of international trades cannot be condoned. SFTS Edu is one of the professional training institutes in Kolkata that gives their best effort to educate their aviation aspirants in all the industry dimensions and conducts various courses related to aviation.
